Dr. Albert Chan has been an attending cardiologist in the Royal Columbian Hospital since 2004. He graduated at the University of Toronto School of Medicine in 1994, and received his training in cardiology at UBC and interventional cardiology at The Cleveland Clinic. He also received his Master of Science degree at The Harvard University in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is currently the Head of the Interventional Cardiology at the Royal Columbian Hospital and in Fraser Health Authority, and is the Clinical Professor of Medicine at UBC. His clinical interests include minimally invasive treatment for structural heart disease, such as transcatheter heart valve replacement and left atrial appendage, as well as novel strategies of high-risk coronary revascularization. Dr. Chan has been a local principal investigator and co-investigator of numerous clinical trials, and some of which have had major impact on the quality and the strategy of treating heart disease.
