Dr. Matthew Yan obtained his BSc in Microbiology and Computer Science and his MD from the University of British Columbia. He then completed his residency in Hematology and Transfusion Medicine at the University of Toronto, and a MSc in Health Informatics at the University of Victoria. He is a hematologist who works as a medical officer for Canadian Blood Services, and as a transfusion medicine physician for the Fraser Health region. His research interests include health informatics, medical education and patient safety as it relates to practice of transfusion medicine.
